ENID — The funeral service for Dennis Wayne Deck, 52, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Edmison will officiate. Graveside will be in Waukomis Cemetery .
Dennis was born July 13, 1957, in Enid, Okla., not alone, but four minutes before his identical twin brother, to William and Kathryn Deck. He died, Saturday, July 3, 2010, at his home in Enid, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He attended Enid Public Schools and received a business administration degree from OU, which led to an eight-year career as a Garfield County assessor and 18 years as a real estate appraiser.
He had a great love for nature and the outdoors. He was a hunter and fisherman. His hobby for building wooden boats was recognized when "Wooden Boat" magazine published an article on "Red Lady II" in 1994.
He was a tender, caring, loving husband and father, devoted son, faithful brother, uncle and supportive friend.
He is survived by his wife, Jerri, of the home; son, Christopher Deck of Enid, Okla.; father, William Deck of Enid; sister, Cheryl Beasley and husband Jim of Enid; and nieces, Kelli Wilson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Cydi Beasley of Enid; nephew, Chad Lisle of Alabama; and grandnieces, Briley, Addison and Eden.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn, and identical twin Douglas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to OU Center Cancer Institution with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
