Mrs. Winifred C. Burns, 82, Waukomis, died early Tuesday in a local hospital.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 AM Thursday in the Waukomis United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward Light officiating.

Burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery. The Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Burns was born and grew up on a farm west of Waukomis. She taught at Lahoma and west of Waukomis. After attending business college in Oklahoma City she moved to Denver and was married there November 25, 1925, to Leslie Burns.

Mrs. Burns moved to Chicago, Illinois, in 1927 where she worked as a secretary for a toy manufacturing company, then returned to Waukomis in 1943.

She was a member of the Waukomis United Methodist Church, the Waukomis Chapter No. 137 Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years and was a member of the Waukomis Women's Study Club. Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Waukomis United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Burns is survived by two brothers, Thomas P. Campbell of Wichita, Kansas, and Ted Campbell of Waukomis.
