Waukomis Cemetery


OBITUARY
Anna Margrite Brown, wife of Mr. Cornelius Brown, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Henneke, was born on the 10th day of July, 1887, at Staunion, Ill., and departed this life on the 2nd day of March, 1919, in the Red Cross hospital, Glenwood Springs, Colo., at the age of 31 years, 7 months and 8 days.
She came to Waukomis, Okla., in the year 1906 with her parents and lived here until April 2nd, 1918, when she became the wife of Cornelius Brown, the ceremony being performed by Rev. C.F. Mayer at the Evangelical parsonage at Waukomis.
She departed on the same day of her marriage with her new husband to her new home, Eagle, Colo.
February 23rd a daughter was born into the home and named Annie Margerite, who died February 25th.
Mrs. Brown was reared in the Drummond community, where she had many girlhood friends and others who knew her.
She leaves to mourn her departure, with the hope of meeting again in heaven, husband, father and mother, four brothers, six sisters, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mayer in the Zion Evangelical Church in Waukomis, on the 6th day of March.
The remains of the mother and child were laid side by side in the Waukomis Cemetery.

Herman Brown was home from Ft. Sill last week, called here by the death of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Cornelius Brown. He does not expect his discharge for a month or more, as his wound has not entirely healed yet.
