ENID, OK — Funeral service for Perry Barker, 53, of Enid, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Matthew Thoms officiating.
Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Perry was born to Clarence and Janett (McMonigle) Barker on July 18, 1960, in Edmond, Okla., and passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Zion, Ill.
Perry grew up in Waukomis and graduated from Waukomis High School.
He worked in the oil field his entire life, starting at the age of five or six, going to work with his dad. He enjoyed his work and the many friends he made along the way.
Once you were Perry’s friend, you were a true friend for life. He recently was a driller for Spess Oil in Cleveland, Okla.
Perry had many hobbies that included motorcycles, guns and travel. But most of all he enjoyed the pleasure of making people laugh. It filled his heart with joy to see his friends and family happy.
Perry will leave an empty spot in many hearts. But the memories that he left for everyone lucky enough to have known him will keep the laughter living on forever in our hearts.
Perry is survived by his mother, Janett Barker of Enid; brother, Rex Barker of Enid; and fiancée, Linda Lawver of Enid.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence, and brother, Robby.
Memorials may be made to OMRF, leukemia division.
