ENID, Okla. — Funeral for Joyce F. Bair, 83-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery. Visitation with family will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel.
Joyce was born Jan. 13, 1929, in Bryan, Texas, to Edward and Albina Zak and died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She attended Bryan schools, graduating in 1947.
She moved with her family to Liberal, Kan., where she worked in her father’s café. This is where she met her future husband, Don. They were married Jan. 12, 1948, in Perryton, Texas. The couple made their home in Liberal before finally settling in Waukomis.
She was a longtime member of Waukomis Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed cooking and made the best cakes and cookies you ever ate.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, A.J. Bair of Enid; sister-in-law, Linda Bair of Enid; and niece, Connie Bair of Woodward, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; and one niece, Dolly Bair.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home in her name.
