Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel for Jack D. Austin, 46, longtime resident of the Pioneer community who died early Friday morning in his home.
Dr. Lloyd A Taylor will officiate and burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery.
Austin was born on a farm near Drummond July 22, 1923. He attended rural schools in the Waukomis – Drummond area and graduated from Drummond High School.
Following graduation he entered the U. S. Army and served during World War I I in Italy. After his discharged he returned to farming.
He and Elsie Hand were married October 21, 1948, and they established a home near Pioneer where he lived until his death. He has been engaged in farming, ranching and carpentry work.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Linda) Buller, Omaha, Nebraska, Geneva Jane and Beverly Carol of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Ira (Geraldine) Peterman, Waukomis, Mrs. Ross (Blanche) Lockhart, Tularosa, New Mexico, Mrs. William (Anna Belle) Allen, Drummond, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Velma Cecil.
