The funeral for Pauline Betty Ashby, 91, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Thurman Sparks will officiate. Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 20, 1917, in Waukomis to Victor and Esther Lukebaugh and died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at The Commons.

She attended Waukomis High School.

She married Chester Ashby Nov. 7, 1937, in Waukomis. He died May 10, 1988.

She was a member of Victory Bible Church.

Surviving are three sons, Elvin Ashby and Ron Ashby, both of Blackwell, and Paul Ashby of Enid, and six grandchildren.

Services for Chester E. Ashby, 73, 1121 E. Maple, who died Tuesday in a local hospital, will be at 10 AM Friday in Ladusau – Evans Chapel with Lyle Buller officiating. Burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery.

He was born December 14, 1914, at Waukomis where he grew up. He graduated from Waukomis high school and married Pauline Lukenbaugh in 1937. They moved to Lahoma where he farmed until 14 years ago when they moved to Enid. He worked for Schoonover Hardware and was a member of the Christian Union Church of Enid.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Elvin of Tonkawa and Ronald and Paul of Enid; two brothers, Robert and W. S. Of Enid; a sister Wanda Schoonover of Enid; six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Memorials may be made to the church with the church and the funeral home acting as custodians of the fund.
