She was born on January 11, 1910, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Elizabeth (Valtr) and William R. Armstrong. That same year the family moved to Oklahoma City, where she attended school. She attended Oklahoma University where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in music.

She worked for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission for 35 years, 26 of which were in the Enid office where she retired in 1972. During World War I I, she served in the U. S. Army.

She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota. Ms. Armstrong was also very active in raising and showing Chinese Pug dogs.

Surviving her are two aunts, Stella Blodgett and Emma Moore, both of Enid; cousins, close friends and neighbors, Arthur and Ruth Roelse of Enid, among many other friends and "Jonny," her Pug dog and longtime companion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister.
