The graveside service for Glen W. Ake, 87 year-old Lahoma resident will be Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at 10 a.m. in Waukomis Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Jackson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
Glen was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Fairview, Oklahoma to Camden L. Ake and Nancy (Whitacre) Ake and died Friday, June 1, 2007, in his home.
He attended local schools in Fairview, and on April 1, 1946 he married Betty Jean Call. The couple made their first home in California, where Glen worked in construction. Upon his retirement in 1978, the couple returned to Oklahoma, settling in Lahoma. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to work in his garden.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy and husband Jack Henneke of Lahoma; two sons, Walter Hugh Ake of Marion County, CA, and Glen Burton Ake Jr. of McAlester, OK; two grandchildren, Brian and Donna, Ringwood, OK, and Joanna Smith and husband Justine of Enid; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Emma Derrick of Woodward and two brothers, Albert Ake of Enid and Roy Lee Ake of Ringwood; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, five sisters and four brothers.

Lahoma – a graveside service for Betty Jean Ake, 71, will be 2 PM Monday in Waukomis Cemetery. The Rev. Monte Anderson will officiate. Arrangements are by Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
She was born March 15, 1929, in Waukomis to Hugh and Marie Odom Call and died Friday, August 25, 2000, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She graduated from Waukomis High School. On April 1, 1946, she married Glen W Ake. They lived in California before moving to Lahoma in 1978.
Surviving are her husband, Glen of the home; one daughter, two sons, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great – grandson.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
