The funeral for Sarah M. Adams, 76, will be at 10 AM Tuesday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny J. Marney officiating. Burial will follow at Waukomis Cemetery, under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
She was born in Pope, Mississippi, and died Friday at Bass Baptist Hospital following a period of ill health. She moved to near Snyder when she was five and attended school in Snyder and Mountain Park. She married Edgar Lee Adams on June 27, 1931, in Altus. They lived in Mountain Park, Snyder, Colorado and Texas before moving to the Enid Waukomis area in 1976. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nita Adams of Tucson, Arizona; one brother, Murray Tyler of Tulsa; four daughters, Mrs. Bob (Nelda) Shaw of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Mrs. Don (Nadine) McIntire of Memphis, Tennessee, Mrs. Lloyd (Jan) Jones of Midland, Texas, and Ernalea Hunter of Enid; one son, Gerald Adams of Tucson, Arizona; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 15, 1984, two sisters, five brothers and a grandson.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Lung Association.
