A Celebration of Life Service for Richard Allen Moehle, 82, Carrier, is at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with the Rev. Travis Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Richard was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Enid to Henry W. and Katherine E. Zwetzig Moehle, and passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at his home, after a lengthy illness.

Richard grew up in the Carrier community, where he attended and graduated from Carrier High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He married Mary Louise Benkendorf on Feb. 20, 1955.

He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was baptized, confirmed, married and served in many different offices. They made their home in the Carrier Community as dairy farmers and raised registered Southdown sheep. He enjoyed sports and livestock shows, and never missed his children's games or livestock shows. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; children, Rhonda Howerton and husband, Kenny; Michael Moehle and wife, Jana; Patsy Ross and fiancé, Dennis Elmenhorst; and David Moehle and fiancée, Lindsey Johnson; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Marquardt; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Moehle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bill Moehle.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love, or OMRF-diabetes, or Alzheimer's, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
