The memorial service for Rowena Poore, age 86, of Enid will be.10:00A.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Golden Oaks Chapel in Enid. Burial of cremains will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lahoma at a later date.

Rowena was born March 11, 1931 in Tulsa to Holman and Mary (Kirkpatrick) Adams and died Friday, March 9, 2018 in Golden Oaks Nursing Home. She graduated from Will Rodgers High School in 1949 and then attended Phillips University for one and a half years.

On December 29, 1951 she married Alan Douglas Poore in Tulsa. The couple lived at Lowery Air Force Base in Colorado until his discharge in 1954. The couple then moved to Enid. Rowena was known for her art work, loving care for her disabled daughter, and church activities. She was involved in a nursing home ministry for 30 years. She also had a women’s ministry at the Garfield County Jail for five years. She was a long-time member of the First Assembly of God Church.

Rowena is survived by her son, Clark Poore and wife, Maria of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Graciela and Lucinda Poore also of Albuquerque, and daughter, Cindy Poore of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Doug.
