The funeral service for Gentry D. Brakhage, age 45, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Wade Burleson will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lahoma, OK. There will be a time of visitation with the family, today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Gentry was born Feb. 24, 1964, in Enid, OK to Gerald and Rosella (Wahl) Brakhage and died Nov. 19, 2009, near Goltry. He was raised in the Lahoma community and graduated from Lahoma High School in 1982. He attended Autry Vo-Tech while he was in high school. He gave his sisters a bad time while growing up and always made them laugh.
He married Dana Klugh on May 16, 1987, in Lahoma at Zion Lutheran Church.
Gentry was a dairy farmer by trade, but had many other interests. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a hard worker and loved the Lord; passing his passion for the Lord to his girls. He built choppers and loved to ride motorcycles. He taught his girls how to shoot rifles and enjoyed spending time with them at the swimming pool, watching movies with Chesney on Friday nights and playing board games with Kiersten. He enjoyed family time with his kids and Dana. He spent a lot of time at the shop building and repairing. Gentry was very talented and could fix anything. He liked the outdoors and taking the girls on hikes.
He is survived by his wife, Dana; daughters, Chesney and Kiersten, of the home; his parents, Gerald and Rosella Brakhage of Lahoma; three sisters, Julie Schomber and husband, David, of Ringwood, Kristy Morton and husband, Lonnie, of Lahoma, and Kasey Griffin and husband, Pat, of Enid; many nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; his mother-in-law, Shirley Klugh of Enid, and brothers and sister-in-law and numerous other family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorials may be made to his children's education fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.

A Celebration of Life Service for Dana J. Brakhage, age 53, of Lahoma, will be 2 p.m. Monday at the OBA Auditorium with Rev. Jay Mendenhall officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Lahoma, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 2 - 3 p.m. OBA is following CDC guidelines and asks if social distancing is not available mask will be required.
Dana was born Oct. 25, 1966, in Enid to Leon and Shirley Messenger Klugh and passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, in Oklahoma City at the Integris Hospice House after a battle with cancer. She attended and graduated from Pond Creek/Hunter Schools in 1984. She received her Bachelor Science degree in Education from Southwestern State University in 1987. Dana married Gentry Brakhage on May 16, 1987, in Lahoma at the Zion Lutheran Church. Dana enjoyed coaching and teaching for the past 32 years at the following schools; Lahoma, Coolidge Elementary, Emmanuel Christian School, OBA, and Prairie View Elementary. She was passionate about her Savior, her Family and her students.
She is survived by her daughters; Chesney and Kiersten of the home, her siblings, Dennis (Debbie) Klugh of Fort Cobb, OK, Patta (Robert) Grimes of Hunter, OK, Calvin (Robin) Klugh of Tulsa, OK, Jon (Onie) Klugh of Neosho, MO, her father-in-law Gerald Brakhage and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gentry, brother Larry Klugh, mother-in-law Rosella, and three nephews.
Memorials may be made to Care Portal or Forgotten Ministries with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
