Rose Hill Cemetery


Services for Jennie Ford, 98, former of 1214 West Elm, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. James K. White officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Carrier.
Ford died Friday morning in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 16, 1888 in Harper County, Kansas to Irvin and Mary D. Ford and moved with her family to Carrier shortly after the opening of the Cherokee Strip. She move to Enid in 1919 and worked for a time at the Don-Paul Cafeteria. She was the pianist at the Congregational Church at Carrier before moving to Enid. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the choir and the Wesleyan Guild.

She was also a member of the Carrier Home extention Club No. 1, the Sons and Daughters of the Cherokee Strip, the Business and Professional Woman's Club, the Daughters of the Union Veterans and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors are nieces and nephews.
