The services celebrating and honoring the life of Roy Winkelman, 72, of Enid will be held 2:00 P.M. today, Friday May 13, 2022, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nathan Oney officiating, burial will follow in the Paradise Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Roy was born September 21, 1949, to Roy and Beulah (Stevens) Winkelman in Wahoo, Nebraska, and passed from this life May 10, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma, with his family by his side.

He was raised and educated in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and graduated from Shawnee High School with the class of 1968. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He returned to Shawnee and later moved to Enid in 1975. He married the love of his life Melinda McGill September 21, 1975, in Enid where the couple made their home. He worked for Rite-Way Construction as a heavy equipment operator for forty years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed vacationing in Branson, watching westerns and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter Alisha Merriman and husband Robert, of the home; two granddaughters, Hailey and Vanessa; one son Milton Winkelman; two sisters, Brenda Tucker and Jean Hester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Melinda Winkelman, one grandson Alex Merriman, his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Alzheimer's Association with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
