Friday, September 3rd, 1954 - Sunday, August 6th, 2023

A Celebration of Life for Julie Diane Winkelman, age 68, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Friday, August 11, 2023, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 10th.

Julie was born September 3, 1954 in Wellington, Kansas to James Albert and Coy Mae (Milam) McElfresh, and after a long battle with lung cancer and COPD, our dear mother passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 6, 2023 in Enid.

Julie attended Ames High School where she enjoyed playing basketball and hanging out with friends. In 1982, she met her husband Pat. Together, they raised five children and many grandchildren. Mom worked as a CNA or home health aide for most of her life. She always had a listening ear and tried to help anyone that needed help. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Shanya Holder; brother Jerry McElfresh, sister, Loretta McElfresh, sister Patricia Black and sister Joyce Anaya; sister-in-law Madonna McElfresh; three nephews, Gene Black, Jr., Jeffrey McElfresh, Jerry Lee McElfresh and a niece, Melinda Hoffman. She is survived by her husband, Patrick Winkelman, of Enid; five children, Dwayne Decker and wife Marie, of Tulsa; Shiela Vincent and husband Buddy, of Enid; Christy Decker and husband Antonio, of Enid; Melissa Ramirez, of Enid; Justin Winkelman and wife Nancy, of Enid; twenty grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Anthony McElfresh, of Enid; Albert McElfresh and wife Debra, of Burns Flat, OK; Mike Wendt and wife Shannon, of Newton, KS; Jimmy Wendt, of KS; two sisters, Pam Jones and husband Mike, of Enid; Betty Ann Petty and husband Steve, of Enid; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Memorial contributions in Julie's name may be made to Humanity Hospice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
