The funeral for Barbi Jane Zahorsky, 65, will be 2 p.m. today at West Willow Community Church. The Revs. Don Tines and Brian Hayes will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. She was born May 15, 1942, in Salem, Ore., to Fred Lawson and Lenna Mae Sundquist Cashion and died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She grew up in California, where she attended elementary school in Arcata and graduated from Willow Glen High School in San Jose. She then attended Pasadena Nazarene College in Pasadena and San Jose City College, where she studied dental hygiene.
She married Del Wayne Zahorsky May 18, 1987, in Lake Tahoe, Calif. They made their home in Enid, where she was a nurse’s aide and attended West Willow Community Church and Women’s International Aglow. She also was a member of Quilt Block Bible study in Waukomis.
Surviving are her husband, Del of the home; two sons, Gary Zahorsky of Kansas City and Steve Zahorsky of Dallas; two daughters, Debbie Scott of Shawnee and Linda George of Kansas City; one brother, Ron Cashion of Santa Cruz, Calif.; one sister, Betty Brinley of Enid; her stepmother, Modean Cashion of San Jose; two stepsisters, Teri Wooten of San Jose and Shirley Batdorf of Modesto, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to West Willow Community Church.
