The funeral for Frank H. Unruh, 86, will be at 2 PM Saturday at Grace Mennonite Church with the Rev. Ted Kuschel officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
He was born October 13, 1903, in Alden to Henry A. and Anna (Nightengale) Unruh, and died Monday in a Norfolk, Virginia, hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was reared in Carnegie. He married Emma Froese in 1925 at Carnegie, where they made their home until moving to Enid in 1956. He worked in construction with the WPA in the early 1930s. He farmed for 40 years and worked as custodian at Calvary Baptist Church for two years. He moved to Norfolk about seven years ago to be with his son. He was a member of Grace Mennonite Church.
Surviving are two sons, Leslie of Norfolk Virginia, and Raymond F. of Snelling California; one daughter, Mrs. David (Lillie) Schmidt of Apache; 16 grandchildren, 27 great – grandchildren; and two great – great – grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 29, 1977, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the craft Grace Mennonite Church.
