Kathey Jeanne (Townley) Unruh
December 2, 1958 - August 7, 2023
Celebration of life service for Kathey Jeanne (Townley) Unruh, age 64, of Enid will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Anderson Burris Funeral Home, with son and pastor Jerred Unruh officiating. A private graveside service will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kathey was born to Howard "Ray" Townley and Sarah "Anita" Townley, on December 2, 1958, in Ardmore, Oklahoma and passed away early Monday August 7, 2023 at her home in Enid.
Kathey graduated from Enid High School in 1977 and attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. In 1980, Kathey married Keith Waken, and together they had one daughter, Elizabeth Ann. On February 3, 1996, Kathey married Darrell Unruh in Enid and began their life as a blended family with Darrell's son Jerred Wayne.
Kathey worked several different jobs including administrative assistant positions at Emmanuel Enid and Insurance Services Northwest. Her favorite job, however, was working in the home, raising her children, being "Mimi" to her grandchildren.
Kathey loved her family and her friends. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and music. But, the greatest joy in her life was her family. Her generosity was a defining feature, and she loved providing experiences and lifelong memories for her family. She loved beauty of all kinds, whether from the blooms of her favorite rose bush, sparkly jewelry, or mountainscapes.
Kathey is survived by her husband Darrell Unruh of Enid, children Elizabeth Waken of Enid, Jerred Unruh and his wife Kerrie of Enid, and two grandchildren, Titus and Elli Unruh.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Anita Townley and brother Steve Love.
Memorials may be made to Anderson Burris funeral home.
