Graveside services for Donald Thorpe, 84 of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Paula Yoder officiating. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Donald was born February 22, 1936 in Petersburg, TX to Verbe and Elcie Dickson Thorpe and passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020. He married Mary Baker on April 4, 2015 at University Place Christian Church in Enid where they made their home. He was a truck driver for many years, hauling a variety of goods and also was recognized for driving over 3,000,000 miles in the United States without an accident but not without a speeding ticket. He loved OU and Dallas Cowboys Football. He especially loved babies and his dog Scooter.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his children, Margie Manville, David, Glenn and Brian Thorpe, and a step-son Bill Baker and his wife Teresa, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers but memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Diabetes Division.
