Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Dorothy Thorne, 85, of Enid, Okla., will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ron Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dorothy was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Hartville, Mo., the daughter of Virgil and Lydia Cline Hanson and passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014.

She was a 1947 graduate of Pond Creek High School.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Ralph Leonard Thorne on Jan. 26, 1949. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 2005.

She was a member of Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church and the Moose Lodge.

She loved to dance, sew and care for her flowers. She will be be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn and husband Dr. Bill Simon of Enid; two sons, David Thorne and wife Susan of Bristow, Okla., and Daniel Thorne and wife Peggy of Ardmore, Okla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sharon Wiegand, Virginia Ryan, Bonnie Johnson and Charlotte Saenz.

Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
