HUNTER — Funeral service for Charles Wayne Tefft, 79, of Hunter, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Hunter United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Littrell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery . There will be a time of visitation with the family from 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Charles was born Nov. 1, 1931, at home near Enid to Lloyd Edmund and Caroline Anna Hughes Tefft. He passed on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Charles was raised north of Enid. He attended Spring Valley grade school and graduated from Enid High School in 1949. He graduated from Oklahoma A&M in May 1953 with honors and a

B.S. degree in agronomy and animal science and a master's degree in animal nutrition.

He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp.

He married his college sweetheart, Donna Alicia Bolenbaugh, on Dec. 20, 1953, at Hunter United Methodist Church.

Donna and Charles began their married life traveling with the Army. After completing military service, Charles and Donna returned to farm in the Hunter and Enid communities. Charles farmed most of his life and was a skilled carpenter, homebuilder and craftsman. Charles also worked at Garfield County ASCS office.

Charles was a faithful member of Hunter United Methodist, serving in local and district positions. Through the church, Charles and his wife Donna were volunteers in mission and completed 23 service missions nationally and internationally. He touched many lives, sharing his faith and using his creative abilities during these mission trips. Charles and Donna have been members of Rural Rotatory Club. Charles was a loyal Oklahoma State University supporter and a fan of OSU wrestling. He was an active member of Alpha Gamma RHO Fraternity.

Charles is survived by his wife, Donna; four daughters, Carol Elizabeth Prickett and husband Kent of Pond Creek, Okla., Arlene Tefft Curry and husband Dave of Elk Point , S.D., Donita Ruth Tefft and Charlita Fay Tefft of Stillwater, Okla.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Dorothy Bolenbaugh; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James Elmer Tefft, Bob Hughes Tefft and Lloyd Edmund Tefft, Jr.

He will be remembered as a strong, quiet, man, with his love of God and family.

Memorials may be made to Volunteers in Missions, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or Hunter United Methodist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
