Raymond Talbott, 72, 1405 N. Third, died early Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital following an illness of one month. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Chapel with Rev. C. T. Aly officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Talbott was born December 2, 1899, in the Pioneer community southeast of Enid, and was raised there and attended rural school. Following his schooling he began farming in that area. He married the former May Hunter and they resided on the farm until her death in 1929. In 1939 he married Vena Dailey and they established their home west of Pioneer, moving to Enid 24 years ago. He farmed until his retirement in 1966. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vena, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Ivalou Glines and Mrs. Herbert L. (Betty) Hilderbrand, both of Enid, and Mrs. Judith Lowe, Las Vegas, Nevada; three brothers, Leonard of Garber, Orville of Enid, and Fenton of Fairmont; 13 grandchildren and three great – grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford and Howard Talbott.
