Graveside service for Myrtle A. Sykora, 96, of Enid will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2013, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Alan Seibel will officiate.
Arrangements are under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Myrtle was born May 16, 1917, in Orlando, OK, to Harry and Wilma Filtz Davis and passed away Wednesday evening at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
Myrtle grew up in the Orlando and Enid communities.
She married Paul Sykora in 1940. He passed away December 9, 1986.
Myrtle was a longtime member of Davis Park Christian Church.
Myrtle served as an RSVP volunteer for more than 30 years, being selected as Volunteer of the Year in 1990. She donated more than 30,000 hours of service to various community organizations including United Way, St. Mary’s, Wheatheart Nutrition, Enid Chamber of Commerce, Enid Public Schools, Oklahoma Information Center and the RSVP office. She coordinated Enid Volunteer “Dream Team” for more than 10 years.
Myrtle is survived by her children, Ron Sykora of Houston, TX, and Linda Knoll of Arlington Heights, IL; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
