The funeral for Ella M. Smith Sykora, 94, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Susan Southall and Dave Conrad will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 7, 1911, in Rozel, Kan., to Albert and Rosa Pelz Winkler and died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid.
She was a graduate of Rozel High School in 1929. She worked in child development at Vance Air Force Base for 26 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Meadowlake Women’s Golf Association, Christian Home-makers, and Shriner Ladies Social Club.
She married Ernest E. Smith Feb. 7, 1934. He preceded her in death. She married Frank W. Sykora March 15, 1969, in Enid. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn Allen of Anchorage, Alaska, Shirley Davis of Enid and Linda Daugherty of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Sharon Sykora Purdue of Raleigh and Elizabeth Sykora Prisbrey of Spanish Fork, Utah; two sisters, Marjorie Dunham of Kearny, Ariz., and Lola Heimer of Jetmore, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by nine sisters and brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer division.
