A Graveside Service for Marian Ruth (Jordan) Suter, age 84, of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Garden Chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Marian was born May 4, 1937, in Russell Springs, Kansas, to Harold and Helen (Wright) Jordan, and passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She attended Nursing School in Wichita, Kansas, at the Wesley Nursing School. On August 18, 1956, she married Lyle Suter in Oakley, Kansas, and they had two children, James and Rhonda. They moved to Enid in 1958 where they owned and operated Southwestern Sewing Supply for 53 years. Marian was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also an active member and supporter of the Senior Life Network.
Marian leaves her family: son James Suter and wife Joan, of Texas; daughter, Rhonda Copeland and husband Wendell, of New Mexico; her grandchildren, James and Amanda Wilson, Mike and Amanda Marie Wilson, Megan and Braden Whittington, Logan and Madison Suter, and Katelin Suter; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Blake Wilson, Ellery Wanless, Parker and Pace Suter, Eleanor Whittington, and baby Whittington on the way.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle E. Suter, and her parents.
Memorial contributions in Marian's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
