August 24, 1939 - March 30, 2019

A Celebration of Life for Dixiebelle Elaine (Probert) Stribley, age 79, of Enid, is 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church of Enid, with Reverend Susan Southall officiating. Burial will follow in the mausoleum at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for Dixie is from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 2nd at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Dixie was born August 24, 1939 to Budd and Cornelia Probert in Waterloo, Iowa, and passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 in Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from Waterloo East High School with the Class of 1957 and began working as a secretary at Rath Packing. Dixie married Bob Stribley on September 8, 1962. She continued her employment at Rath's until the birth of her daughter, Angela Elaine on April 8, 1967, at which time she resigned to stay home with her daughter. Once Angela started school, Dixie began working at Allen Memorial Hospital, where she worked until the family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma in January, 1974.

Dixie worked at Titus Manufacturing/Air System Components as an office manager for 29 years until her retirement in 2003. Following her retirement, Dixie and Bob moved to Enid, Oklahoma to be closer to Angela and her family.

Dixie enjoyed genealogy, watching baseball and football, working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends and her cat, Mittens. Her two grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life and she was always proud to share their most recent accomplishments with all who would listen. Dixie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Enid where she enjoyed many close friendships, particularly those in the TNT Sunday School Class.

Dixie is survived by her husband Bob Stribley, of the home in Enid; her daughter Angela Combs and husband David of Enid; granddaughter Molly Lynne Combs, of Warr Acres, Oklahoma; grandson 2LT Ryan James Combs of Fort Benning, Georgia; and nephew, Jim Muir of Waterloo, Iowa who was raised with her as a brother. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Irene Moore.

The family requests memorials be made in her name to the Enid SPCA or 4R Kids with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences may be made and services viewed online at www.ladusauevans.com.
