Opal Straw, 81, of Wichita Kansas died Saturday, June 3, 2017. She was born to Olen J. Hubbell and Helen F. “Snider” Hubell May 5, 1936 in Helena, Oklahoma. Opal graduated from Helena High School in 1955 and then attended Enid Business College. After this she worked at Central National Bank in Enid. She married Dale L. Straw on July 30, 1956 and they lived in Helena, Oklahoma until 2001, when they moved to Wichita, Kansas. She was a waitress and had worked at many different restaurants. Opal collected bells and loved to work crossword, jigsaw and “find the word” puzzles. She and Dale were married 61 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Dale of Wichita, Kansas; two children, Ray L. Straw and wife, Glenda of Wichita and Arlene Lasater of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Hubbell and wife, Linda of Helena, Oklahoma.

Funeral service for Opal will be Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Helena United Methodist Church with Len Coulter officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Viewing is Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with family present 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Helena United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
