The funeral service for Mary Jane Standerfer will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 27, 2017 in the Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gary Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mary Jane (Whittenberg, Meyer) Standerfer was born August 19, 1922 in Hydro, OK to Reverend John Arthur and Mary Ruth (Hibbs) Cox and passed away November 22, 2017 in Enid.

Mary Jane and J.W. Whittenberg were united in marriage November 3, 1940 in Capron, OK; four children were born to this union, one daughter, Dean Ann; three sons, Donald Jay, Max Lee and Roy Vince “Butch”; in 1964 she married Everett James (Smoky) Meyer. In 1998 she married William R. (Bill) Standerfer.

Mary Jane loved writing, and was published in several magazines, as-well-as authoring a book of poetry. She also wrote devotions for the Daily Guidepost. She was a long time member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and Max; sister, Gayleene; husbands, J. W. Whittenberg, Smoky Meyer and Bill Standerfer; daughter, Dean Ann; sons, Max and Roy.

Mary Jane is survived by her son, Donald and wife, Karen Whittenberg of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Betty Jean Walker of Mission TX; son-in-law, Bruce Rogers of Enid; stepdaughters, Linda and husband, Paul Hopkins of Mequon, WI; Carol and husband, Bob Smith of Littleton, CO; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made to Ross Hospice with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
