ENID, Okla. — Funeral service for Bettye Frances Spencer, 79, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Zoe Bible Church with Rev. Cornelius Pitts officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home

Bettye was born to Ellis and Jennifer “Jan” Shannon McGee on June 10, 1933, in Springer and passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Enid. Bettye grew up in Springer and attended school there. On July 25, 1960, she married George Spencer Sr. in Enid. Bettye was a caregiver at NORCE, retiring after 23 years. After her retirement, she started walking every morning. She also worked at Youngblood Hotel. Bettye was a member of the Chickasaw Nation and a member of Zoe Bible Church.
She is survived by three sons, Leonard McGee, Lawrence McGee and Floyd Weddington, all of Enid; brother, Ellis McGee Jr. and wife Jaunzetta; sister, Juanita West; and several other brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and friends.

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Amanda Crawford, Mary Baxter, JoAnn Tasby and Earnestine French. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life.
