The funeral for Elmer Smith, 77, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Progressive Mission-ary Baptist Church. The Revs. Ronnie Jacobs and Corwin Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
He was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Coweta to Leonard and Pearlie Gibson Smith and died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
He married Donna Stewart Dec. 31, 1950. They made their home in Enid. He worked at OK Laundry and owned and operated Elmer’s Barbeque.
Surviving are his wife, Donna, of the home; three daughters, Sharon Cole of Las Vegas and Gloria Smith and Denise Smith, both of Enid; three sons, Billy Patterson of Kapalei, Hawaii, Norwin Smith of Kansas City, Mo., and Dennis Smith of Newport News, Va.; one sister, Karetha Mangrum of Moreno Valley, Calif.; one brother, James Smith of Enid; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Booker T. Washington Community Center.
