The funeral for Jeffrey Douglas Shewey, 40, of Washington D.C. will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Enid. The Rev. David Wiggs will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. A memorial service will also be held in Washington D.C. at the Foundry United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 7 p.m.

He was born Jan. 24, 1967, in Tulsa, Okla. to William E. and Jana L. Gamster Shewey and died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in Washington D.C.

After graduating from Enid High School in 1985, Jeff attended the University of Tulsa. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. His career path included financial consulting jobs for Sallie Mae, Cybermark, Accenture, and Booz Allen Hamilton. He combined his love of business and restoring old homes when he became a sales associate for Coldwell Banker Realty in Washington D. C. in 2004. He was working on a new business venture with his recently-formed company, HomeSoldHome, at the time of his death.

Jeff enjoyed traveling, especially with his family and friends. He was always excited to join his nieces and nephews on family vacations. His family will always treasure trips with him to New York City, Disney World, Colorado, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Italy and the Canary Islands. Jeff was a loving companion, a devoted son, a trusted and admired brother, and an exciting, adored, and adventuresome uncle. The holidays never started until Uncle Jeff arrived. His generous spirit, both with his family and in his volunteer activities in Washington D.C., will be cherished forever.

Surviving are his companion of 12 years, Randall Borgersen of Washington D.C.; his parents, Bill and Jana Shewey of Enid; one grandmother, Audra Gamster of Enid; one sister, Jennifer Crenshaw and her husband Mike of Enid; one brother, Brian Shewey and his wife Susan of Enid; three nieces, Megan, Katherine, and Rachael Shewey; and two nephews, Ryan and Kyle Crenshaw.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Jane Shewey and Elmer Jay Gamster.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First United Methodist Church of Enid or to the nonprofit organization SMYAL, a non-profit teen support organization in Washington D.C.
