ENID — Funeral service for Gail Lynn Sharkey, age 55, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with Rev. Kevin Choate officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 on Monday at the funeral home.
Gail was born June 30, 1956, in Enid to John and Ann Maly Petr and passed away Friday, September 9, 2011, in the Golden Oaks Nursing Home after a period of ill health.
She married Dale Sharkey on October 25, 1974, in Garber. Gail graduated from Enid Beauty School in 1974 and owned and operated a beauty shop in Hillsdale from 1980 to 1989. She went to work at the Enid Post Office in 1992 and took a medical retirement in 2007. She helped Dale farm in the Hillsdale community for 36 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Gail is survived by her husband, Dale, of the home; son Wes and his wife, Shannon, of Lahoma; daughter Kristie and her husband, Jeremy McClung, of Quitman, Arkansas; mother Ann Petr of Enid; two sisters, Janice Schuttpelz and husband Stan of New Mexico, Marilyn Steen and husband Mike of Nebraska; two brothers, Randall Petr and wife Linda of Fairmont and Harland Petr of Enid; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Petr.
