A graveside service for Leonard “Lindy” Schultz, 80, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2006, in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Marvin Goodpasture will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Bessie, OK to John and Paulina Schultz and died Tuesday, July 25, 2006. He was placed in an orphanage in 1934 in Helena, OK. He was fostered by Brownie and Emily Bond in 1936.

He enlisted in the Navy in October 1943, before he graduated from high school and he served two years. He finally graduated from high school on Nov. 11, 2002. He was a homebuilder in Enid for many years. He loved to fish and travel.

Lindy married Burnece Smith Oct. 6, 1946, in Enid at the bride’s home. He lived in Enid most of his life. They had five children together.

He is survived by his wife, Burnece and his five children: Barbara Green and spouse Stan of Broken Arrow; Leonard Schultz of Enid; Gary Schultz and spouse Karyl of Paola, KS; John Schultz and spouse Renee of Enid; and Marcie Potter and spouse Steve of Enid. Also survived by one brother Jimmy Gullett and spouse Treva of Oklahoma City. Lindy has 14 surviving grandchildren, Jenny, Justin, Stephanie, Gordan, Gary, Jackie, Joey, Chloe, Ben, Ricky, Patrick, Bo and Steven and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Mark and Brett Green, foster father, Walter “Brownie” Bond and nine brothers and sisters.

He was the best husband, father, and grandpa anyone could have. He was crazy about his family.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Oklahoma Blood Institute with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
