The funeral for Velta Charlene Schaefer, 88, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Eric Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Anoka, Neb., to L.L. and Mabel Anderson Keeler, and died Friday, July 10, 2009, in Enid.
She married Otto Schaefer Aug. 19, 1938, in Burke, S.D. She moved to Oklahoma in 1991 from Borger, Texas.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lahoma.
Surviving are her children, Harold Schaefer of Bartlesville, Kenneth Schaefer of Ponca City, Robert Schaefer of Red Oak, Iowa, and Radean Reed of Lahoma; one sister, Veryl Orr of Lincoln, Neb.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto, three sisters and five brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Zion Lutheran Church, Lahoma.
