Donna Gayle Staton
January 27, 1946 - June 11, 2023
The graveside Mass of Christian Burial for Donna G. Staton, 77-year-old Enid resident will be 11:00AM Friday, June 23, 2023, in the mausoleum of Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Donna was born January 27, 1946, in Enid to George and Pearl (Morrison) Staton and died Sunday, June 11, 2023, in Greenbrier Nursing Home. She attended local schools and graduated with the class of 1964. Donna was first employed by St. Mary's Hospital in 1968 but started her career with the hospital in junior high school as a candy striper. Her first paid position at the hospital was serving as the Secretary for the School of Nursing. She continued in that role until the school of nursing closed in 1970, at which time she began working in administration.
She had served in that capacity, as Secretary to the Administrator, since 1985. During that time she has worked for four different Chief Executive Officers. Many don't realize the multiple tasks that she juggled on a daily basis to keep things running smoothly.
She was honored with employee of the year in 2004. She always considerd her co-workers as family and dearly loved them all. She also loved her dogs. "Oakley" a Golden-Doodle and "Ivy" a schnauzer mix looked after her in her later years.
Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to the Enid SPCA.
