Funeral service for Ted Shepard will be Friday, October 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM at North Garland Road Church of Christ with Gordon Jantz officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Ted was born on October 28, 1945, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Dewey and Freda (Browning) Shepard and passed away October 21, 2024, at his home in Enid with his family by his side.
He grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. On December 4, 1987, Ted married Darlene Settlemires in Enid, where they made their home. He was the owner of Shepard Fabrication and Powder Coating, owner and operator of Airport Speedway, promoter of Enid Speedway and a legendary race car driver. Ted was a habitual entrepreneur. He attended Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church for many years.
Ted was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Shepard; parents, Dewey and Freda; brothers, Bob, Herb, Francis, Joe, and infant brother, Clifford.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Kelvin (Tracy) Shepard, Angie (Shawn) Hughes and Amy (Chris) Spinelli and Kelley Shepard; six grandchildren, Kyle, Emme (EJ), Luke, Simon, Leigh and Sasha; brother and his wife, Jim and Maxine Shepard; sister and husband, Susie and Gary Smith; nieces, nephews, and many friends he loved like family.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to North Garland Church of Christ Pantry Fund. Darlene would appreciate it if you would share memories or stories to be shared at the service.
