Veston H. Rowe was born July 27, 1933 to Neva (nee Allen) and Oscar A. Rowe in Gracemont, Oklahoma. He passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
The family moved to Lahoma, Oklahoma when Rowe was a youngster, and he completed grades one through 12 in Lahoma.
He attended what was then Central State Teacher's College in Edmond, Oklahoma for one semester, dropping out to work at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas. Soon after, he was drafted into the army, serving three years.
On Valentine's Day 1953, he married Elizabeth Josephine (Jo) Brown. He died two days short of their 66th anniversary.
After the service, he and wife settled in Enid, where he enrolled at Enid Business College. When he completed his studies, he began working as an accountant for Champlin Oil Company, where he worked for 33 years.
In 1974, he earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Phillips University.
In 1981, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas when Champlin relocated its administrative offices. He remained in Fort Worth until 2012 when he and his wife moved to Norman, Oklahoma.
A member of the Enid chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quarter Singing (SPEBSQS) from 1963 to 1981, he sang lead tenor for the Belvederes Quartet for many years. He often served as the master of ceremonies.
A member of the Enid Kiwanis Club, in 1979, he was named Enid's Kiwanian of the year.
After quintuple bypass surgery in 1981, Rowe became an avid runner, participating in numerous 5K races.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters, Beulah Holloway and Bessie Farley, and brothers, Doyle Rowe and Lawrence Rowe, and two nieces, Cynthia Rowe and Phyllis Nelson.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Jo) Rowe, his children, Celeste Rowe (David Desautel) of Norman. David Veston Rowe (Jae Pepito) of Orange, California; Michele Doernte (Audie Van Zandt), Norman; and Lisa Munkacsy (Bob Munkacsy), Lindenwold, New Jersey.
He also is survived by granddaughters Adrianne Munkacsy (Dominque) of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania; and Kayli Capshaw of New York City; and grandsons, Matthew Munkacsy of Lindenwold, New Jersey; David Daniels (Kristin) of Oklahoma City; Aaron Daniels, Norman, Oklahoma; and Anthony Doernte, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Services will be held 1:00p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, 2800 N. Van Buren St., Enid, OK 73703, with interment immediately following at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6405 Memorial Drive, Enid, OK 73701. Online condolences may be shared at www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com.

Elizabeth Josephine "Jo" Brown Rowe died Monday, August 5, in Norman, Oklahoma. She was 89.
Jo Rowe was born April 19,1930 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to George Mitchell and Josie Frank Glass Brown. She grew up in the Muskogee and Bremerton, Washington before attending Monte Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from which she graduated in 1948.
After high school, she attended business school in Oklahoma City while working as a switchboard operator at Benedictine Heights Hospital in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
She married Veston H. Rowe on Valentine's Day in 1953, and after his service in the United States Army, they settled in Enid, Oklahoma, where she was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and where she was also a member of the Altar Society.
Additionally, Jo volunteered as a member of the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary for several years. She was a member of the Enid Chapter of TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly) and KOPS (Keep off Pounds Sensibly) for many years, receiving state and national recognition for her achievements.
Jo moved with her husband to Forth Worth, Texas in 1981, where she was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and the YMCA.
They moved to Norman, Oklahoma in 2012.
Jo packed a dynamic personality into her 4'10" frame. She loved to engage others in conversation throughout her life, even after a stroke 16 years ago made it difficult for her to communicate. She was loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Brown. Her husband of nearly 66, Veston, died February 12, 2019.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Kymes of Muskogee, brother George Brown of Menifee, California and her children, Celeste Rowe (David Desautel) of Norman; David Veston Rowe (Jae Pepito) of Orange, California; Michele Van Zandt (Audie Van Zandt), Norman; and Lisa Munkacsy (Bob Munkacsy), Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
She also is survived by granddaughters Adrianne Munkascy (Dominique) of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania; and Kayli Capshaw of New York City; and grandsons, Matthew Munkacsy (Chelsea) of Lindenwold, New Jersey; David Daniels (Kirsten) of Oklahoma City; Aaron Daniels (Brittney), Norman, Oklahoma; and Anthony Doernte, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. To leave online condolences please visit havenbrookfuneralhome.com.
