Graveside service for Velma Ruth Roggow, 87, of Enid, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Velma was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Enid, to Herman H. and Julia M. Hamm Pereboom and passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home.
She attended and graduated from Enid High School.
She attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a dietician degree.
Velma went to work for Ralston Purina Company in St. Louis, Mo., and later for the U.S. Navy in Baltimore, Md.
She moved back to Enid, where she married Herman Roggow on Aug. 28, 1995, in Kingfisher, Okla. He passed away Sept. 22, 2010.
She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Redeemer Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Lee Pereboom and wife Tina of Giddings, Texas; niece, Stephanae and nephew Robert “Robbie” Pereboom; and stepchildren, Verlon Roggow, Valeria Lewis and Viann Garrison.
Preceded in death by stepson, Virgil Roggow.
