Herman ROGGOW
ENID - The funeral service for Herman Roggow, age 95, will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Breckinridge. Rev Christopher Hall and Rev Gerald Roggow will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family Monday evening at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m. Arrangements are made by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Herman was born in a farmhouse north of Breckinridge, OK on May 28, 1915, and died September 22, 2010, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He was the second of eleven children and the eldest son of Reinhard and Ella Schossow Roggow. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Union School.
In 1937 Herman married Lorene Eggers at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont. They farmed wheat between the Breckinridge and Hunter communities and were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Breckinridge. Herman was a skilled mechanic and collected farm-related antiques in his retirement. He and Lorene moved to an acreage north of Enid before she passed away in 1992.
In 1995 Herman married Velma Ruth Pereboom. They were members of Redeemer Lutheran Church and served as treasurers for the Old Time Dance Club of Enid. They moved to Golden Oaks in 2008.
A brother, Bernard, and two sisters - Bertha Loesch and Della Palmer - preceded Herman in death.
Herman is survived by Velma and four children: Virgil and Joleen Roggow of Garber, Verlon Roggow of Enid, Valeria and Jim Lewis of Enid and Viann and Bruce Garrison of Broken Arrow; seven grandchildren - Lyle and Curt Roggow, Jan McDonald, Jason and Paige Lewis and Amber and Brian Garrison. Three sisters, Hilda Roggow, Minnie Wilgus and Bernice McCanless. Four brothers, Erwin, Wallace, Victor, Gerald Roggow and many great children, nieces and nephews
Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund of Breckinridge, OK with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com
