A Celebration of Life service for Darlene Ellen Robinson of Enid, OK will be 10:00 am, Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Richard Robinson and Reverend David Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Darlene was born May 5, 1928 at Homestead, Oklahoma, to Neal Lancing Hale and Ida Bell (Barnes) Hale, and passed away July 8, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She attended Longdale, Enid High, and Drummond Schools. She married Jack Carrell Robinson February 5, 1946. They had eight children, six boys and two girls. She was baptized September 28, 1954 at Vici, OK in the General Assembly & Church of the Firstborn. Darlene was a midwife for 44 years. She delivered many babies and saw the Lord work many wonderful things. She worked for Fidelity Motors, and was the first girl in Enid to work as a service station attendant. Darlene was part of the Tops Organization, received many awards, and served as president of Tops group 207 in 1997 and 1998.
She is survived by her sons, Jack Carrell Robinson, Jr., of Enid; Larry Dale Robinson of Cedaredge, Colorado; Richard Leroy Robinson & wife Vera, of Henryetta, Oklahoma; David Gene Robinson & wife Brenda, of Enid; Jerry Duane Robinson & fiancée Jerilyn McKee of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Tommy Joe Robinson of Enid; and one daughter, Ida Roxanne Combs & husband Rick of Enid. She is survived by three sisters, June Turner of Carson City, Nevada; Betty Crouch of Enid; and Cheryl Castor of Enid, as well as two brothers, Alva Hale of Covington, OK, and Lonnie Hale of Keller, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren, as well as one more great grandchild and great, great grandchild on the way.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Carrell Robinson; a daughter, Cathy Sue Carmichael; two grandchildren, Heather Renee Combs and Bradley Todd Robinson; one sister, Marion Lee Steele; her parents, Neal and Ida Hale, of Enid; and three brothers, Roy Hale, Robert Hale, and Johnny Hale.
