Graveside service for Connie Roberts is 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Chaplain Gary Miller will officiate. Arrangements are under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Connie came into this world September 19, 1937, in Enid, OK, at Bass Baptist Hospital and passed away at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center November 15, 2013.
She was raised on a farm outside of Jet and enjoyed helping her father with wheat harvest and baling hay. She enjoyed spending time at the lake and took pride in caring for her family.
She attended Jet grade school in the 1940s and graduated from Jet High School in 1955. She then moved to Enid to attend Enid Business College and later Autry Vo-Tech to further her career.
She had a fruitful career and worked for Wesley W. McClannahan as a legal assistant, George E. Failing Company, Pekrul Manor, Farmers Insurance, Gwen’s Sewing Center and Huffman Real Estate, where she was the secretary for Bob Huffman until he passed away. She was a homemaker and mother and later sold Avon products and ended her career with 10 years of service at Advance Food.
She married her best friend, Gary Gene Roberts, August 21, 1960, and has raised their family and extended family in North Enid, OK, since the early 1960s.
She is survived by her husband Gary; sister, Judy Brown; brother, Edwin Huffman; daughters, Anita Cole and Kim Miller; grandson, Jason Chambers; granddaughter, Rebecca Schmidt; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Gary Gene Roberts, 88 year-old Enid resident, will be 1:00pm Thursday, September 19, 2019 in the Mausoleum of Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Clayton Stevicks will officiate and military honors will be presented by the United States Army. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Gary was born the first child to Paul V. and Vera Marie (Gigoux) Roberts on August 13, 1931. He attended Enid Public Schools and graduated from Enid High on June 2, 1950. He attended Oklahoma A&M College and was in the Army National Guard. He attended college until he was called to serve his country in the Korean War. He earned numerous service medals and a bronze star during his service. He was honorably discharged in June 1952.
He married Connie (Huffman) Roberts on August 21, 1960. He worked over 30 years at George Failing Company until he retired in 1996. He was arguably the best machinist in the nation and was awarded some very special projects during his career.
Gary will be remembered for his wit, humor, humility, and patience. We will always remember him when we take the backroads.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie and brother, Jerry Roberts.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Anita Cole and Kimberly Miller; grandchildren, Jason Chambers, Rebecca Schmidt, Makalynn Cole and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
