ENID — Funeral service for Dorothy Rikli, 86, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Williams and Everett Ohls officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with the arrangements by Anderson - Burris Funeral Home.
She was born on March 15, 1925, to Jesse and Lida (Pearson) Scott in Ames, OK, and died on Thursday June 16, 2011, in Enid.
Dorothy grew up in Ames and graduated from Ames High School. On December 8, 1946, she married Roland A. Rikli at Calvary Baptist Church, and they made their home in Enid. She worked as a telephone switchboard operator and then began working at CR Anthony as a sales clerk. Dorothy was a longtime active member of Calvary Baptist Church; she was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing. Her hobbies were traveling and watching sports.
She is survived by her husband Roland of the home; daughter Patricia Rikli of St. Louis, MO; and her sons, Charles and Jonathan Warren; son Charles Rikli and wife, Nancy, of Melbourne, FL, and their families, Chris and Kimberly Parkhurst, and children, Luke and Laine, Tim and Leone Parkhurst, and daughters, Hannah and Sarah, Heather Lesh and sons, Gage and Mason, Kevin and Mia Parkhurst, and daughter, Coco; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and six sisters.

The funeral service for Roland Arthur Rikli, 96, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church, with The Rev. Steve Williams and Everett Ohls officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Roland was born to William and Marie (Merkel) Rikli on Dec. 9, 1918, in Murdock, Neb., and passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, in Enid.
Roland grew up in Murdock, graduating from high school there. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 200th Field Artillery. With his unit he landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day plus two. In May 2014, he was inducted to the Order of St. Barbara of the Field Artillery. After his discharge, he moved to Enid. On Dec. 8, 1946, Roland married Dorothy Scott at Calvary Baptist Church in Enid. They made their home in Enid, and Roland worked for the Champlin Oil Refinery for 37 years before retiring. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since August 1946, serving as deacon and choir member. Roland enjoyed traveling, holidays and special days with his family, and playing croquet. On Nov. 10, 2015, Roland was honored with the Legacy Veteran of the Year Award, U.S. Army, by the Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park.
He is survived by daughter Patricia Rikli of St. Louis, Mo.; son Charles Rikli and wife Angela of Melbourne, Fla.; two grandchildren, Charles Warren and wife Majella, and Jonathan Warren; and brother Marcus Rikli and wife, Dorothy of Greeley, Colo.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, sister Bernice Kuehn and brother Alfred Rikli.
Memorials may be made to Woodring Wall of Honor, OBU Nursing or Jim Logsdon Scholarship Fund.
