The funeral service for Robert Ray Reynolds, Jr. will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 3, 2019 in the Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Kendon Mulanax officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ray was born September 19, 1955 in Springfield, IL to Robert Ray, Sr. and Lela Jane (Broaddus) Reynolds and passed away September 27, 2019, surrounded by his family at his home in Enid.
He and his family moved to Enid in 1970. In 1973, Ray proudly joined the United States Air Force. While being stationed in Oscoda, MI, Ray graduated from Tawas High School. He married Katherine Bratcher and the couple had two daughters, Tonia Sue and Alicia Dawn. After a few more stops, the family found themselves at Keflavik Naval Station in Iceland where they welcomed a son, Brian James. In 1981, Ray was honorably discharged and moved back to Enid where he went to work at Vance Air Force Base for 38 years, taking a leave of absence June 25, 2019.
In 1993, Ray met Celestia Ann Lyle and a year later the couple married and Ray gained a son, Gavin Rex who was 11 years old. Ray and Celestia had just recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Ray is survived by his wife, Celestia of the home; mother, Lela Kanehl of Enid; daughter, Tonia (Glenn) Griego of Socorro, NM; two sons, Brian (Jacqueline) Reynolds of Enid; Gavin Lyle of Enid; sister, Diane (Steve) Savage of Sand Springs, OK; mother-in-law, Frances Moss of Billings; brother-in-law, Monte Moss of Billings; four granddaughters; five grandsons; one great-grandson and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Alicia Jones; father-in-law, Bobby Moss and his sister-in-law, Lida Moss.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Tulsa with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
