OBITUARY

Funeral service for George Wallace Rand Jr., 81, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at House of Prayer with Pastor Alvin Dalton officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Silver Talon Honor Guard, Vance Air Force Base.

George was born Feb. 6, 1931, in New Glauster, Maine, the son of George Sr. and Ada Gould Rand and passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City on Sunday, July 22, 2012. He was raised in New Glauster, Maine, and graduated from high school in Auburn, Maine. George served in the United States Air Force and moved to Enid.

George married Naomi Dalton in Enid on Dec. 7, 1971. He worked in the oil field as a foreman, retiring in 1990. George was a member of House of Prayer and formerly was in a bowling league.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi of the residence; son, Vincent Rand of Oklahoma City; daughter, Rosalind Cox of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy and Maynard, both of Maine; sisters, Janis Rand and Georgia Rice, both of Maine; Kathryn Mitchell of Florida and Marge Taylor of Mississippi. George was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services for Naomi June Rand, 85, Enid, will be held on on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at House of Prayer with Pastor Tony Hays officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.

Naomi was born on July 30, 1931 in Carney, Oklahoma, the daughter of Troy and Gussie Nickelson Dalton, and passed away peacefully on May 2, 2017 in Enid. She moved to Stillwater and later to Enid where she married George Rand on December 7, 1971. They were members of House of Prayer.

Naomi is survived by brothers, Floyd Dalton of Enid and Leonard Dalton of Enid; sister, Deloris Buck of Enid, children, Darrel Lonnie Stewart, Lavona Stewart, Judy Stewart, and Walter Stewart. She was preceded in passing by her husband George, her parents, brothers, Joel Dean, Lloyd, Newman, and Alvin. One sister, Melva Dalton, and daughter, Brenda Stewart. .

The family has selected Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division, as appropriate for memorial donations with the Stittsworth’s coordinating.
