ENID, Okla. — Graveside service for Clarence Rackley, 95, of Alva, Okla., will be 2 p.m. today, April 30, 2014, in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Lester Lowry will officiate under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 27, 1918, to Emmett W. and Sylvia (Gentry) Rackley in Hector, Ark., and passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, in Alva.
He graduated from Pottsville High school in Russellville, Ark.
He married Blanche Jackson on June 16, 1946. They moved to Covington in 1946, before moving to Enid in 1948. In 2006, they moved to Share Convalescent Home in Alva.
He drove a taxi in Enid for years and then drove a city bus for four years. He also worked at Danny’s Datsun of Enid and later managed two gas stations. He was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Joyce Garvie of Alva, Marilyn Rackley of Buffalo, and Kay Huddleston of Tupman, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche.
Memorials may be given to Evangel Assembly of God Church, with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
