OBITUARY
Services for Charles Neal Purnell, 60, were held Sept. 26 with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, Oklahoma. Arrangements were by Brown Funeral Home of Enid,
Charles was born in Enid April 19, 1935 and lived in California before moving to Overland Park in 1980 and died Sept. 23, 1994, at a hospital in Hutchinson, Kansas, He served as chief financial officer for the Burke Energy Co. in Hutchinson and had worked for the company for 10 years. He received a bachelor's degree in business from Phillips University in Enid and a master's degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He was also a foster parent for the Kaw Valley Children's Center. H e was a member of the Covenant Chapel Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Purnell of the home; a son, Navy Lt. Charles Neal Purnell, Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Marissa Lynne Purnell, Kansas City, and Rachel Ann Purnell of the home; and his mother, Maude Purnell, Enid..
