The Memorial Services celebrating and honoring the life of Carissa C. Powell, 43, of Enid, will be held privately Friday October 16, 2020 in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Gary Miller officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Carissa was born May 5, 1977 to Larry and Donna Oldham Hess in Enid and passed from this life October 5, 2020 in Enid.
She was raised and educated in Enid graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1995 she then attended Northern Oklahoma College and graduated with an associate degree in 1997. She worked at Kmart for three years, various other jobs and most recently for Tyson Foods for three and a half years until the time of her passing. She married Corey Powell February 12, 2009 from this union came one child.
She enjoyed visiting on the phone; taking trips, always willing to go anywhere; cooking, always trying new recipes, collecting art projects, and making crafts. She absolutely loved raising her little boy and watching him play sports. She was a special, special person and her grandmother and her were very close.
She is survived by her husband Corey, of the home; her son Jarrett Powell, of Enid; her parents Larry and Donna Hess, of Enid, one brother, Casey Hess, of Enid, one Aunt Vonda and Bill Keck, of Enid, and four cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Memorials may be given in her honor to Hospice Circle of love with Brown-Cummings Funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
