Funeral services for Susan E. Polwort age 56 of Enid will be 10 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Susan was born January 18, 1956 in Enid to John and Mary Burris McMullen and passed away Wednesday evening in St. Mary’s Regional Hospital.

She was raised in Enid where she attended and graduated from Enid High School in 1974. Susan attended Oklahoma State University and Northwestern State University. She married Rich Polwort on November 30, 1978 in Enid.

Susan worked for Enid Medical Arts Clinic in the Lab, later working for St. Mary’s Regional Hospital as a Phlebotomist from 1987 until her health required her to retire in 1999.

Susan was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Susan fought a terrible and debilitating illness along with diabetes for more years than any of us thought possible, and somehow along the way she managed to wrap each member of her family and countless friends in her own handmade quilts. She taught us how important it is to never give up and to always give freely of your time and talents. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband Rich of the home, daughter Liesel Polwort of Oklahoma City, son Brent and his wife Jeanice Polwort of Enid, two granddaughters Alexis Cooper and Kellen Polwort, her father John McMullen of Enid, two sisters Dyann and husband Roger Parson of Enid and Laetitia and husband Mitchell Clark of Oklahoma City, brother Eric and his wife Pat McMullen of Enid and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary McMullen and a brother Paul McMullen.
