Funeral for Lil Pierce, 89, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lesly Broadbent officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Navy. Visitation with the family present will be 5-6:30 Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Lilburn was born Jan. 28, 1926, to EJ (Bob) and Marie (Worley) Pierce, in Aurora, Colo., and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, in Enid.

Lilburn grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Lil married Leona Edwards May 28, 1950, in Enid. He worked as a pattern-maker for George E. Failing and was a carpenter at Vance Air Force Base for 48 years. He enjoyed going to Colorado.

Lilburn had been active in Boy Scouts since age 8, earning Explore Leader, Order of the Arrow and Wood Badge. He was a Past Right Eminent Grand Commander of Knights Templar of Oklahoma, a member of Akdar Shrine, Pond Creek Masonic Lodge #125 and Enid Lodge #501, 32nd* mason, and Ruth Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Lil was a member of Willow View United Methodist Church.

Lilburn is survived by his wife, Leona, of the home; children, Pam Ann Howard and husband Luke of Hillsdale, Dennis Wayne Pierce and wife Nancy of El Reno; sister, Louise Nakvinda of Enid; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Pierce; sister, Nona Pierce; and great-grandchild, Jayla.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Shriners Crippled Children Hospital or Boy Scouts.
